Oshi No Ko Season 3 Announced!
After the airing of the final episode of the season 2 of Oshi No Ko on October 6, 2024, the official franchise channels announced the renewal of the series for a 3rd season. Additionally, the names of the voice actors who will portray the two new characters introduced in the final episode of the season 2 were revealed.
Mamoru Miyano, known for voicing the character Light Yagami in Death Note, will be the voice of Hikaru Kimiki in the anime sequel, while Hina Kino, recognized for voicing Alas Ramas in The Devil is a Part-Timer, will be responsible for the dubbing of Crow Girl.
Oshi No Ko Season 3 Trailer!
No official trailer for the season 3 of Oshi No Ko has been released yet, however, along with the announcement of the anime’s renewal for a new season, the franchise’s official channels have released a promotional video and a visual teaser.
The promotional video, with approximately 30 seconds of duration, starts with a lighter tone, mainly focusing on showcasing the visuals of the girls from the new B-Komachi group: Ruby Hoshino, Kana Arima, and Mem-Cho. However, shortly after, the tone of the video becomes more somber, highlighting the visuals of the two new characters introduced at the end of the season 2: Hikaru Kimiki and Tsukuyomi.
Towards the end of the promotional video, the visual teaser for season 3 is displayed, with the new B-Komachi group as the main highlight. This visual teaser appears to be an evolution of the teaser for the previous season, indicating a continuity in the narrative and visual style of the series.
Oshi No Ko Season 3 Release Date Prediction!
Although no official information about the release date of the season 3 of Oshi No Ko has been released so far, it is possible to make an estimate based on the release pattern of the previous seasons.
Both the first and second seasons of the series premiered around 12 months after their respective announcements, so if this trend continues, it is reasonable to assume that the 3rd season will also be released approximately 12 months after it has been announced.
And considering that the announcement of the renewal for the season 3 occurred shortly after the airing of the final episode of the season 2, in October 2024, it is likely that the new season will be released in October 2025.
Oshi No Ko Season 3 Plot!
Considering that the first two seasons of Oshi No Ko adapted around 40 chapters of the manga each, it is likely that the third season will adapt the “Mainstay” and “Scandal” arcs, which together have a total of 28 chapters. However, the big question lies in how much of the subsequent arc, titled “Movie,” which has approximately 39 chapters, will be adapted.
- The “Mainstay” arc follows Ruby Hoshino’s journey as she begins to carve her way into the entertainment world through a web variety program starring Aqua. In this arc, characters such as Shun Yoshizumi, the program’s assistant director; Mimi Yoshizumi, Shun’s cosplayer/VTuber sister; the cosplayer Meiya; and Tetsu Urushibara, the director of the variety program, are introduced. Additionally, it is revealed that Ruby and Aqua’s father is Hikaru Kamiki.
- The “Scandal” arc, on the other hand, follows a potential scandal involving Kana Arima, after a compromising photo of her with a rising film director is taken by a paparazzi. In this arc, the newly famous director Masanori Shima is introduced.
- The “Movie” arc focuses on the production of the documentary “The 15 Year Lie” including fundraising, casting, the audition for the role of Ai Hoshino (which ended up being played by Ruby Hoshino), and the filming of the movie. In this arc, characters such as the famous actress Yura Katayose, the agent of an advertising company for the film, Marina Tendouji (mother of the late Sarina Tendouji), the stage name of the mysterious girl linked to the reincarnation as Tsukuyomi, and Fuyuko Niino, a former member of B-Komachi with close ties to Ai and Hikaru, are introduced.
